Encrypted Cloud Backups on Android

According to WABetaInfo, the new Whatsapp update will have Encrypted Cloud backups. This will keep all users data like chat history and media securely backed up. As per the reports, if a user forgets their passcode or loses the recovery code, then they’ll be blocked permanently as Whatsapp also can’t get in.

WhatsApp is finally rolling out end-to-end encrypted backups for beta testers today!https://t.co/Exs95QbHcE — WABetaInfo (@WABetaInfo) July 16, 2021 Whatsapp messages are end-to-end encrypted, which means those who try to see the private chats can’t easily get in. At present, if a user keeps a backup stored in the cloud, then authorities can use a search warrant to have iCloud or Google Drive to provide the data access. Whatsapp is also working on software that works across multiple devices, maintaining end-to-end encryption while you have a phone or not.
